Eating Disorder Awareness Week (EDAW)

Eating Disorders Awareness Week 2026

Eating Disorders Awareness Week (EDAW) is observed each year from February 1st to 7th. Since 1988, EDAW has been recognized across Canada to raise awareness about the causes, prevalence, and effects of eating disorders. A variety of local events are held to educate the public, spread awareness, and encourage individuals to take action in supporting those affected by eating disorders.

What does the Bulimia Anorexia Nervosa Association (BANA) have planned for EDAW 2026?

During the week of #EDAW2026, BANA will be active at various locations within Windsor-Essex  to help spread awareness, educate the public, and inspire others to act in supporting those impacted by eating disorders. Visit us at various locations on campus at the University of Windsor, and at Devonshire Mall. See our EDAW schedule below.

Proclamation 2026

We extend our sincere gratitude to the City of Windsor and the Office of the Mayor for their ongoing support over the years in issuing a proclamation for Eating Disorders Awareness Week 2026. This continued commitment from our municipality plays a vital role in raising awareness, reducing stigma, and reinforcing the importance of community-level leadership in addressing eating disorders. Municipal recognition sends a powerful message of validation and support to individuals, families, and organizations working tirelessly to promote education, prevention, and recovery.
